Okay I've taken far too long to do a journal on this. Molly and I got married on the 5th of May!
The reason I put off this journal was because I was hoping to coincide it with when we finally got video footage and more photos back from people BUT you know me I can't let a month go by without at least one entry or else what did I make these Alice headers for!?
SO! The day before, Molly's parents arrived and we went for lunch at Prezzo and then a walk around the seafront, before meeting the then-arriving family of mine - Mum, my sis, my bro, my bro's boyfriend and my step-dad at Morelli's, the ice-cream parlour I do love so much. We all had coffee and sundaes which was lovely. After that I headed home and Molly went off with her parents to spend time and have a meal with some extended family. Molly was staying at the hotel overnight for funsies so we didn't see each other on the morning and all that, just to add a bit of extra excitement to seeing each other again at the ceremony.
Several school and uni friends - Steve, Kate and Adam, along with Steven and Dave, came over to mine to play gameses and have drinky-poos. I still am not too fond of drinky-poos but was kind of surprised by how jaegerbombs, a combination of two moderately disgusting things, were actually quite delicious. We played quite a lot of Nintendoland, and it was great to see my schoolchums in particular since I haven't done so in over a year or three now - Kate in particular I hadn't seen since the last day of college back in 2007. Meanwhile my bro and his boyfriend had a meal with my Dad, they appeared for the last hour or so and then after that it was bedtime and such.
On the day it ended up being SUPER gorgeous and sunny all day, after weather reports had said it would be overcast for most of the day all up to that point, so that was awesome. As is known, I hate buttons and suits so I wore a V-neck vest sweater with a shirt and tie and smart trousers. My Step-Dad Ian picked me up and took me over to our family friends, Marion's house, whose daughter (whom I've known since I was little) Meg is a hairdresser. She gave me a plait with a ribbon tied through it which came out exactly as I hoped when I thought it up to give my hair just something a bit more interesting (I wear it in a plait pretty often for work so yeah).
After that we went to the ceremony far too early lol, but it got all the paperwork out the way at least. We had it done just at the registry office in the town over, Ramsgate, nothing fancy. I chatted to the two ladies doing the ceremony for a while who were super lovely and were complimenting me on my music choices lol. Steve (a.k.a. Pooshoes/Poopy/Moopy) was Best Man while Steven was Worst Man, they presented a ring each. Poor Kate was forcibly volunteered by one of the ladies to be main photographer since she had a good camera lol.
Anyway the ceremony happened and stuff. There was a brief mess-up on my part where I said "I do" too early, but in my defense she paused between sentences for slightly too long! All in all it was a super casual atmosphere which was great.
Afterwards we took photos out in the gazebo, then Molly's Dad drove us to the reception, which was at a hotel on the seafront in Ramsgate. They made the place look really nice, and we had a penguin motif goin' on.
The cake was blue inside too.
As seen above, Deborah and Steven got us a SNES, coolest wedding present ever. The food was super nice too, Molly and I had Vegetable Crumble which was way more delicious than I imagined it being. Had a really creamy, flavoursome sauce. Overall a good time was had by all I thunk. I spent a good portion of the time later on torturing the penguin erasers we bought for everyone with Deborah after discovering they could be taken apart in a myraid of hilarious ways. View from the reception was nice too. After, Molly and I went up to the hotel room where we were staying the night just for the sake of not going straight home after a unique day lol. I had a bath, watched QI, drank hot chocolate and we went to sleep. Best wedding night. 8U
Next day we met up with Uni friends who weren't going home til later in the afternoon, along with my bro, his boyfriend and my sis. We played mini-golf, went for ice-cream, and then had nachos and other assorted yummies at Beaches, one of Molly and I's favourite cafés in Broadstairs. Was super sunny again that day too so yeah, was a lovely way to cap off the weekend. Also we have become such regulars that the manager at Morelli's gave Molly and I our ice-creams for free as a wedding present, which was so lovely.
Annnd yeah. Since then it's been business as usual. Everyone won't stop asking "how's married life!?" to the point I want to punch them but that's about it. Hopefully I'll be able to get videos and stuff for online friendies sooner rather than later. D=
Got and built a new computer with the help of Pooshoes, so been slowly transferring stuff to that and been enjoying awesome amazing graphics games running at perfect speed etc on my TV. Hit a brick wall though since I accidentally knocked the power out of an external hard drive while transferring so a tad peeved that I might have lost even more precious stuff, both Audi-related and otherwise. Here's hoping computer shop people can get stuff off it.
We've booked our honeymoon now too, will be off to Brussels late June for a few days. I remain as ever pessimistically neutral on travelling but Molly is looking forward to it at least and I'll prolly be happy once I'm there. >8U
